Upcoming Event Business Meeting On Sunday, February 1 we will have a Special Called meeting right after the Worship Service. There are two items on the agenda. First, the stewardship team has a recommendation regarding a financial matter. Second, you will be provided a purposed amendment to the bylaws which we will vote on Sunday, March 1. Foundations Class What is the Bible? Why are we told to ‘read it’? Where did it come from? When was it written and by whom? How can we be certain it’s true? How old is it? Who are the martyrs whose shed blood allowed us to have it, to read it and communicate with our Holy God? Why is it so offensive and even banned in countries across the world? How do we navigate it? If you’ve ever had questions like this and have never read the Bible but want to learn how, we invite you to join us for a 4-week journey to explore the fundamentals of our faith. Let us discover the Bible in a new way and learn Who it is written by and for and how to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Wednesdays beginning February 4 through February 25 from 6-7:30pm at SCF. Snacks will be provided. Please register here for a spot and materials. Men’s Breakfast Men, join us on Saturday, February 7 at 8am for breakfast and a time in God’s Word. We will also be talking about upcoming opportunities to grow in Christ in the coming year. 3 Circles “3 Circles” is a great tool you can use to share the gospel. Perhaps you have said, “I don’t know how to share the gospel.” Or “I lack confidence to share the gospel.” Or “I would like to expand my ability to share the gospel in a way that fits everyday of life.” If any of these describe you, join Pastor Tim and he will help ensure you are prepared to share the gospel confidently. You can download the presentation tool in your App Store, click here for Apple or click here for Android. This will be used as a resource in conjunction with our upcoming training. The training is 3 Sundays, February 15, February 22 and March 1 in the Church Office during the LIFE Group hour (9:45). Southeastern Children’s Home Service Week Last summer, our Youth Group partnered with Southeastern Children’s Home during our annual summer camp. We had the opportunity to worship with them, share meals, and offer a few encouraging gifts. Our hope at that time was to continue building this partnership and see what God might do in the future and now that time has come! SECH has invited us to their campus in Duncan, SC for a week of service to help with needed maintenance on the family homes across their campus. We will be going May 31–June 4 to complete service projects, assist with larger construction projects, and lead the kids in an on-site VBS. This is an incredible opportunity for our church to serve and partner with their ministry. Sign-ups are open to students and their families if you’d like to make this a whole-family mission trip. More details about cost will be shared as we receive sign-ups and determine interest. Whether your entire family is interested or just your student, click here to sign up so we can plan accurately. We can’t wait to partner with SECH again this year! SCF Students Camp SCF Students summer camp is going to the beach this year! We are going to Garden City Chapel in Garden City, South Carolina from June 26 through July 1. This camp was started to minister to Children’s Homes all throughout the nation. Our youth group is planning to partner up with one of those children’s homes and minister to them by attending worship services and going to different places in the community to love them and hang out with them. This is going to be a special camp this summer! Deposits are $75 and are due upon sign up and are non-refundable. The full cost of camp will be $300, $225 after the deposit. If your child wants to attend camp but cost is an issue, please contact Pastor Matt. If you have any questions, please email Pastor Matt at matt@scfwoodstock.com. You can sign your child up by clicking here.
